President
Joe Walker was conned into joining the officer team in 2009. After a brief stint as Officer-At-Large, he was blind folded, spun, and pointed in the general direction of the Vice Presidency. As Vice President, Joe will ensure that the back of the pack racers are fairly represented, as well as assist the other officers in any duties as needed. After 6 yrs of triathlon PARTICIPATION, Joe will attempt his 3rd Ironman in 2011 (Ironman Coure D 'Alene). This will undoubtedly be the year that Joe goes sub 8 and shatters the course record. After he wakes up, he will assume his place at the back of the pack as usual!!! :) |

Katy Blakemore is a bilingual first grade teacher. The job is perfect for her because she is basically a six year old inside. After discovering at a very early age that singing and art were not her fortes, Katy's parents quickly involved her in many sports. Being a very nerdy athlete, she swam at Stanford University, before heading abroad and getting really out of shape in the Peace Corps in Guatemala. To get back in shape, she started training for a triathlon in 2009 and is hooked. She's friendly, loud and talkative: say hi! |

Coach Charley Perez comes from a long background in running, being a member of the elusive 4-minute-mile club and an All American runner several times (not to mention assistant coach of the Wichita State College track team). When Charley isn't modelling underwear for Calvin Klein, or leaping tall buildings in a single bound, he can be found directing and coaching RMTC workouts, ensuring that we all train smart, and that there is a workout to fit all skill levels found in RMTC. Charley no longer races because he has been able to retire by cashing in the metal content of all the medals he has won over the years... |

Sponsorship Coordinator Stuart Evans moved to Denver sometime in the last 2 years. He previously lived in Arizona where he keeps in TT bike. He drives a big black truck and can be seen passing you at track workouts, where his average heart rate is 193. It's true. He crosses over with his right arm when he swims, but nonetheless was able to turn in an incredible ironman time under 10 hours. He is friendly and will get you lots of deals with our sponsors. Except Powerbar. |

Officer At Large
Tim Woods joined the RMTC in 2004 for the sole reason of buying a bike with the discount. He attended one practice and has not left yet. Speaking of not leaving, Tim has been an officer for many years now, since 2006, serving terms as Treasurer and President. In 2011, he will be an Officer-At-Large, focusing on Gear Sales and anything else the team needs. As for Triathlons, he has competed in every distance from Sprints to his one and only Ironman, which he was conned into doing in 2009. |

Training and Racing Officer
Michelle Hildebrand is the Training and Racing officer. While attending Virginia Tech, Michelle played on the tennis team and was voted least likely to be a triathlete since she complained about every run. After starting with RMTC as a member of Team in Training 3 years ago, Michelle is preparing for her first ironman at Wisconsin in 2011. Her goals for the club are to increase our presence (and domination) at local races and get more members actively involved in the club. |

Community Service Officer Phil Kazmier completed his first triathlon in Florida in 2007 as a dare from his brother. His first thought when he reached the swim venue was "Where is the pool?". After surviving his first open water swim in the Gulf of Mexico he figured triathlons weren't so bad. He joined RMTC in 2008 after signing up for the Boulder Sprint Triathlon. He has since survived a number of swim workouts and triathlons including 3 half ironmans. He ran cross country and track in high school because he lacked the coordination for other sports. He started volunteering at races as something to do while his wife was running. He found that volunteers get to eat as much junk food at the aid stations as they wanted and watching runners fascinates him. |

Communications Officer
Len Thomas is Communications Officer and meddler. A graduate of the University of Denver (many years after Condoleeza Rice), Len has worked as a lifeguard perfecting the whistle twirl, and also as an IT project manager. Encouraged to turn pro triathlete many times, Len prefers to stick to being an age-grouper as it allows more time for sending out the Tri-Bune, evites, and other communications. |

Webmaster
When Yon arrived in the USA from Australia in 2003, he tried to impress a girl he was out on a date with by telling her he was going to do a triathlon. When she said "Me too!!!" he knew he had better start training! Since that day Yon has competed (and we use the term in a very liberal sense) in many races and one way or another knows most of his friends in Colorado via RMTC. Yon is very quiet and soft spoken, and has often been told that subtlety is his forte. |

Treasurer Jim Kozlowski joined RMTC in 2009. As Treasurer, Jim will ensure that we will have enough money to pay the huge salaries of the RMTC volunteer officers. Jim is new to the triathlon world having completed only one sprint in 2010, but he has completed many marathons, half marathons, and cycling events such as the Copper Triangle. He is the father of three-year-old twin girls, so his spare training time usually starts around 4:30 AM for those long weekend runs. Now that he can swim further than one length of the pool without stopping, Jim is lining up several triathlons in 2011 including a half iron. |
