Mile High Multisport - Pete and Kathy Alfino PDF Print

Welcome to Mile High Multisport, LLC. Founded in 2004 by Peter and Kathy Alfino of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Our goal and philosophy is to deliver superior coaching services to multisport athletes regardless of ability. Our 40+ years of racing includes marathons, duathlons, mountain bikes, Xterra, sprint, Olympic, half Ironman and ten Ironman finishes. These experiences have given us a breadth of hands on knowledge to share with our athletes. As working parents of two active children we realize that "HOW YOU TRAIN MAKES THE DIFFERENCE".

We understand that hiring a coach is a difficult decision for many athletes. We have carefully selected a group of coaches that are USAT certified and have years of racing and coaching experience. Coaching is more that just putting together an annual training plan. The ability to listen, be flexible, provide emotional

Our workouts are based on developing a solid base and building towards your key races throughout the season. Along the way we assist you with nutritional advice and your mental approach to training, racing and balancing family, work and hobby.

"Belief is the knowledge that we can do something. It's the inner feeling that what we undertake, we can accomplish. For the most part, all of us have the ability to look at something and know whether or not we can do it. So, in belief there is power: our eyes are opened; our opportunities become plain; our visions become realities."

Coach Kathy

In 2007 Kathy will enter her 25th year of racing triathlons. Her love for this sport continues to grow. After racing two Ironman races in seven weeks (Canada and Kona) she took 2005 off from racing and successfully returned to racing with a 4th place age group slot at Ironman Coeur d'Alene and a second World Ironman Championship berth.

As a working mother of two active kids, her full time job has her traveling a three-state territory. She is living proof that working women can race triathlons successfully while still being a mother and wife. Her background includes under graduate degrees in microbiology and nursing with a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology and Cardiac Rehabilitation.

Kathy's philosophy is that racing shouldn't be complicated. Consistency, persistence and dedication will help you achieve your goals. She believes that the race isn't always won by the strongest and fastest person, but the person who thinks they can and tries. Women who compete in triathlons have improved self esteem, confidence and provide excellent role models for their children.

She has raced successfully from sprint distances to the Ironman, qualifying for Nationals or Worlds at all distances. She works with athletes of all levels. She has a passion for getting women involved in this sport and will gladly accept first time athletes.
